AT THE HOSTEL

Unique is the one word to describe the layout at Angle Rock Backpackers. Classy is another!

All rooms are fully tiled, with just about all having an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower.

As you may gather from the photos, the rooms are octagonal. Yup, just about every room is 8 sided. For that matter so is the pool!

There are 6 beds in the dorms (R80 p/p) which are on the upper level, leading out onto the balcony with quite simply a great sea view. Also on the upper level are the bar/pool table, separate TV lounge (try not to fall asleep in the huge love chair) and a fully equipped kitchen (incl microwave).

On the lower level, looking over the pool are the double / private rooms (R180-R190 p/room).  With the Rand falling faster than a lead balloon I'm not even going to attempt a currency conversion!!  Away from the dorms they provide a quiet enclave. The doubles also have access to another fully equipped kitchen.

The usual clean sheets and blankets are provided for all rooms. There is also a telephone call box.

Angle Rock has to be one of the safest backpackers in South.Africa. There are simply no security worries in this quiet suburb.

AROUND THE HOSTEL

The beach (4.3 seconds away) and sea views are the obvious attractions. Remember the sea temperature doesn't drop below 20 deg Celsius even in the middle of winter.

And let's not forget that within a short walk there is a Spar (supermarket), restaurants, Take Aways (incl a curry "Bunny Chow" - Check it out), post office, chemist, pubs, bottle store, butcher, an ATM cash machine and a doctor.

Let's see - What else would you need? Perhaps a bank for foreign currency exchange. Well, that’s a bit further - just under a mile with a whole bunch more shops.
